For the third time since 2017, the BU baseball program has earned the ABCA’s Team Academic Excellence Award, one of just eight NAIA programs to do so and qualify for the 2021 National Tournament.

Senior pitcher Corey Jackson highlighted the Bellevue University baseball team's selections on the Omaha World-Herald's All-Midlands Baseball team announced on Friday (July 2). Jackson was named the honorary captain of the squad. In addition, second baseman Cody Banks and shortstop Josh Vaughan were also named to the first team. Bruins who earned honorable mention honors included: Riley Baasch, Conner Barnett, Graham Cahill, Charlie Patterson, and McGrane Pledger.

A total of 71 Bellevue University student-athletes earned North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2020-21 academic year in an announcement made today by the conference office.

Bruin senior Cody Banks (Duvall, Wash.) was named the 2021 ABCA/Rawlings-NAIA Gold Glove winner at second base.

Corey Jackson (Calgary, Alberta) has been recognized as a Second Team All-American by the NAIA- Baseball Coaches’ Association All-America Committee.

Seven honored with major awards at 47th Annual BU Athletics Banquet

All-Americans Olivia Galas (Volleyball) and Elexis Martinez (Women's Basketball) were named co-Female Athletes of the Year. All-American Inaki Aldao (Men's Soccer) and multiple school record holder Riley Baasch (Baseball) garnered co-Male Athlete of the Year accolades. Shortstop Josh Vaughan (Baseball) was recognized as the Male Academic Athlete of the Year. Shortstop Ellie Bliemeister and guard Jamie Winkler were honored as co-Female Academic Athletes of the Year.

The NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round – Bellevue Bracket is changing venues for all of Wednesday's games as a result of wet and rainy conditions in the Bellevue area. The games have been moved to Brown Park in Omaha.
