BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University senior Colton Nash (Bonney Lake, Wash.) has been named a Preseason All-American by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches Association All-America Committee. The 17-member squad was announced yesterday in a release from the NAIA National Office.

Nash was one of the Bruins' most consistent and dangerous hitters a season ago. As a cleanup hitter, Nash raked at .317 with 34 extra base hits (24 doubles, 10 home runs) while driving in 54 runs and scoring a team-high 52. He also tied for the team lead with six stolen bases

In perhaps the most impressive three-game stretch in the country last season Nash hit grand slams in three consecutive games in March at the Warner University Tournament. He was a first team all-MCAC selection and Honorable Mention NAIA all-Nebraska pick last year.

The Bruins ended the 2015 season with a 46-15 record, highlighted by an MCAC Tournament Championship and hosting duties for the NAIA Opening Round Tournament. Bellevue came within a game of reaching the World Series.

Bellevue opens the 2016 on Saturday, Feb. 13 with a double-header at national powerhouse Oklahoma City University. The Bruins take on MidAmerica Nazarene University at 12:30 p.m. before playing Oklahoma City at 3 p.m.
