Bio

Bellevue University head volleyball coach Trish Siedlik has announced the addition of former Bruin standout Taylan Keefer to the 2025 coaching staff. Keefer, a 2024 BU graduate, returns to the program after a stellar five-year career as the team’s starting libero and a key leader in the Bruins’ historic run to the 2024 NAIA National Championship match, where the Bruins finished as national runners-up.

“We are thrilled to have Taylan join our staff after a tremendous career as a Bruin,” said Siedlik. “Her gift to the program was her emotional intuition. With the return of players that she shared the court with, we felt her presence on the bench and practices would be an asset for another run at the title.”

One of the most decorated defensive players in program history, Keefer ranks fourth all-time at BU with 2,299 career digs. A two-time second-team all-NSAA selection, she was named NSAA Defender of the Week nine times during her career. Keefer posted more than 500 digs in three separate seasons, including a career-best 642 in 2023, and twice tied the second-highest single-match dig total in school history (45).

Off the court, Keefer excelled academically, earning Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors four times and NSAA Scholar-Athlete recognition in each of her five seasons.

A native of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and a graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School, Keefer earned her degree in Health and Human Performance with a minor in Athletic Coaching. She also currently works as a front desk associate at Courtyard Omaha Bellevue
