Aiwohi named NSAA Setter of the Week
For the second time this season and the third time in her BU career, sophomore Mila Aiwohi has been named the North Star Athletic Association Setter of the Week for her performances in last weekend's Marvel Classic, hosted by Bellevue University.
BISMARCK, N.D. -- For the second time this season and the third time in her BU career, sophomore Mila Aiwohi has been named the North Star Athletic Association Setter of the Week for her performances in last weekend's Marvel Classic, hosted by Bellevue University.
Aiwohi helped lead the Bruins to three victories over three teams who were all receiving votes in the latest NAIA Top 25 poll.
She averaged 7.64 assists and 2.09 digs per set as the seventh-ranked Bruins ran their winning streak to seven.
Aiwohi recorded a double-double with 32 assists and 10 digs in the four-set win over Ottawa (Kan.). She helped guide Bellevue to its best hitting percentage of the season (.500) in BU's sweep over Columbia, dishing out 21 assists along with four digs. Aiwohi capped off the week with 31 assists and nine digs in the 3-1 victory over Carroll.
In the latest conference statistics, Aiwohi ranks third with 6.58 assists per set.
The Bruins (21-3, 4-1 NSAA) return to conference action on Thursday, Oct. 17, when they travel to Madison, S.D., to take on Dakota State University beginning at 6 p.m.
