Keefer named NSAA Defender of the Week
For the fourth time in her career, senior libero Taylan Keefer has been named the North Star Athletic Association Defender of the Week for her performances in last weekend's Alamo Volleyesta in San Antonio, Texas.
MADISON, S.D. -- For the fourth time in her BU career, senior libero Taylan Keefer has been named the North Star Athletic Association Defender of the Week for her performances in last weekend's Alamo Volleyesta in San Antonio, Texas.
Keefer helped guide the Bruins to a 4-0 record on the week, including a 3-0 sweep over defending national champion and No. 1-ranked University of Jamestown.
Keefer finished with double-figure dig totals in three of the four matches, including a season-high 24 digs in BU's four-set win over No. 23 Texas Wesleyan University.
She averaged 4.86 digs on the week as the Bruins dropped just two sets in the four matches.
Keefer collected 17 digs in BU's upset of the top-ranked Jimmies.
The Bruins will travel to Joliet, Ill. this Friday-Saturday, Aug. 25-26, for three matches at the Big Dogs Classic, hosted by the University of St. Francis (Ill.).
