MADISON, S.D. -- For the second-straight week, freshman setter Olivia Galas has been named the North Star Athletic Association Setter of the Week for her efforts in guiding the Bruins to a 4-1 record last week, including a five-set upset win at No. 19 Madonna University on Sept. 7.
Galas averaged 11.63 assists per set last week while adding 40 total digs and 22 kills. She dished out a career-high 58 assists and added six digs and five kills in the win over Madonna. Galas recorded a pair of double-doubles with 38 assists and 11 digs in the home sweep over Peru State and 44 assists and 11 digs in the four-set loss to Olivet Nazarene.
Galas, who guided the Bruins to a .248 hitting percentage in the five matches, currently leads the NSAA and ranks seventh nationally with 10.96 assists per set. She ranks third nationally with 526 total assists.
The Bruins will open conference play on Wednesday, Sept. 12, with a 7 p.m. match at Dakota State University in Madison, S.D.
