Bellevue University head volleyball coach Trish Siedlik announced today the 10th signee in the 2018 class with the addition of 5-9 middle blocker Chloe Madigan (Omaha, Neb./Wayne State/Central HS).
Madigan, who will have three years of eligibility remaining, played two seasons of soccer at Wayne State College in Wayne, Neb.
Madigan was a three-year letterwinner in volleyball and team captain at Omaha Central High School under head coach Jodi Dierks. She earned honorable mention all-state and honorable mention all-Metro Conference honors while setting school records for single-season hitting percentage and total blocks, as well as career blocks and blocks per game.
"Chloe was an unexpected surprise for this year's recruiting class," said Siedlik. "Her experience on a collegiate team and the expectations that come with competing in any collegiate sport or game will be a huge asset to our younger squad. Her athleticism makes up for time lost on the volleyball court, and her coachable character gives her a high ceiling."
An excellent student, Madigan was named to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference all-academic team in 2017 and was on Wayne State's Dean List in the Spring of 2017.
She played club volleyball for Infinity under coach Dan Yaksich where she helped lead her team to a second-place finish at the 2015 Colorado Crossroads.
Madigan joins nine earlier signees in the 2018 class: 5-11 outside hitter Sierra Athen (Red Oak, Iowa/Red Oak HS), 6-0 middle blocker Sienna Black (Council Bluffs, Iowa/Treynor HS), 5-5 defensive specialist/libero Sidney Craig (Harlan, Iowa/Harlan HS), 5-4 defensive specialist/libero Madi Evans (Omaha, Neb./Millard North HS), 5-9 rightside hitter Payton Fehringer (Greenwood Village, Colo./Cherry Creek HS), 5-8 setter Olivia Galas (Omaha, Neb./Gross Catholic HS), 6-0 middle blocker Coree Lipovsky (Fairfield, Neb./Sandy Creek HS), 5-6 defensive specialist/libero Reahgan Stueve (Missouri Valley, Iowa/Missouri Valley HS), and 6-1 middle blocker Rosa Reed-Bouley (Omaha, Neb./Gross Catholic HS).
Bellevue finished the 2017 season with a 30-13 overall record, advancing to the NAIA National Tournament for the 10th time in school history after finishing second in the NSAA Post-season Tournament. Bellevue was ranked No. 19 in the final NAIA National Top 25 Poll.
