Volleyball hosts MidAmerica Nazarene in NAIA Opening Round

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The 21st-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team will host Heart of America Athletic Conference tournament champion MidAmerica Nazarene University on Saturday, Nov. 19 in the NAIA Volleyball National Championship Opening Round. The match will be played at Bellevue University's Gordon Lozier Athletic Center. Match time is set for 1 p.m.
This will be the second meeting of the season between the two schools. The Bruins defeated MNU in four sets on Sept. 16 in Olathe, Kan.
The Bruins qualified for the NAIA Volleyball National Championship for the fifth-straight year and for the sixth time in school history. Bellevue owns an 8-13 all-time record in the tournament.
The winner of the Bellevue-MidAmerica Nazarene match will advance to the 24-team NAIA Volleyball National Championship final site in Sioux City, Iowa on Nov. 29-Dec. 3 at the Tyson Event Center/Gateway Arena.
The Bruins (29-6) won the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament last Saturday with a 3-0 sweep over College of the Ozarks, receiving the league's automatic berth. Bellevue avenged its only conference loss with the win over Ozarks in the title match.
The Pioneers swept Baker University on Saturday to claim the HAAC Tournament title and the league's automatic berth into the NAIA Volleyball National Championship. It will be MNU's first-ever appearance in the tournament.
