Siedlik signs Bell for 2011 season
December 14, 2010
Bellevue University head volleyball coach Trish Siedlik announced the signing today of local high school standout Sierra (Sunny) Bell to a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at Bellevue beginning in the fall of 2011.
Bell earned honorable mention all-state honors during the 2010 season at Omaha Bryan High School under head coach Elisa Booth. She was also a second team all-Metro Conference selection in 2010 after earning third team honors in 2009.
Statistically, Bell finished second in the state in Class A with 4.4 kills per set.
An excellent student, Bell was named to the Honor Roll all four years of her high school career and was also an academic all-state honoree.
"Sunny is an untested athlete who we have high hopes for as she makes the transition to collegiate volleyball. She has amazing athletic ability as well as strong academic goals that will fit right in here at Bellevue University, said Siedlik. "The coaching staff was excited to grab another local talented player to the class of 2011."
Bell joins earlier signee Nikki Gregory, a 5-9 outside hitter from Omaha Gross High School, who signed with the Bruins in October.
