Siedlik signs Linebaugh to 2010 recruiting class
February 18, 2010
Bruin head volleyball coach \#Trish Siedlik\# announced today the signing of Kirstine Linebaugh (Lincoln, Neb./Pius X HS) to a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at Bellevue University beginning in the fall of 2010. Linebaugh is the daughter of Mark and Mai Linebaugh of Lincoln.
Linebaugh, a 5-4 defensive specialist and outside hitter under head coach Jake Moore at Lincoln Pius X High School, was a member of two Nebraska Class B state championship teams in 2007 and 2008. She helped lead the Thunderbolts to a fourth-place finish at the state tournament in 2009.
She finished her senior campaign with 304 kills and 422 digs while earning honorable mention all-state honors by the Lincoln Journal-Star.
"If you like to watch ball control at its finest, Kristine (Kiki) is that player," said Siedlik. "In addition to our other defensive players, Kiki brings consistency that you don't typically see at the high school level. Her passing, her setting, her location of the ball to a hitter in a second ball situation is perfect. We are excited to have such a competitive player who comes from traditionally top-notch high school and club programs!"
An excellent student, Linebaugh was named to the Honor Roll three semesters.
Linebaugh played club volleyball for the Nebraska Dominators under coaches Nancy Colson and Nikki Harrington.
Linebaugh joins six earlier signees: Annie Benson (5-10, OH, Springfield, Neb./Springfield-Platteview HS), Courtney Hendricks (5-10, MB/RS, Omaha, Neb./Millard West HS), Ashley Wurdeman (5-11, MB/OH, Columbus, Neb./Central CC/Lakeview HS), Meghan Evans, (5-4, DS, Omaha, Neb./BurkeHS), Andrea Johnson (5-7, S/DS, Omaha, Neb./Burke HS) and Sydney DeBoer (5-11, MB, Seward, Neb./Seward HS).
