Broady signs with Bellevue volleyball team
BELLEVUE, Neb. – Jordan Broady, the daughter of Lori and Jeff Broady, signed a letter of intent to play for Bellevue University on Wednesday afternoon on the campus of Johnson-Brock High School. Jordan, a 5’10 setter from Johnson, Nebraska, will look to battle for the starting role for the Bruins this coming fall. “We are excited to have her choose our [the Bellevue] program,” said Bruins coach Trish Siedlik of her first signee of the season.
Jordan finished her senior season with post-season honors, one of which was being selected as a member of the Lincoln Journal Star first-team all-state for class-C2. Miss Broady was also honored as an Omaha World Herald all-state first team for class-C2 and a Pioneer Conference first-team selection.
Last season, Johnson-Brock competed in the Class-2 State Championship finishing third falling to Sutton High School but not before upsetting sixth-seeded Lutheran High Northeast in four (28-26, 22-25, 25-15, 25-21). Johnson-Brock finished 26-6 last season.
As far as Trish’s outlook for her new recruit this next season, “Jordan has big shoes to compete for in the setter role. She has the potential to be that position with hard-work over the summer.
Bellevue University finished in the Final-12 of the NAIA National Tournament last season with an overall record of 32-6 before falling to Northwestern College (Iowa) in the first round of bracket play. The Bruins won their third straight MCAC tournament title and second straight regular season title accompanied by an undefeated league record (14-0) in. The Bruins also set a school record with 20-straight victories.
Jordan Broady will be competing for the setter vacancy left by NAIA and AVCA/NAIA All-American, Candace Clow. Clow finished her senior year as the MCAC Player of the Year and is the all-time leader in career set assists in Bellevue history.
