Steinmetz seeks second All-American finish at NAIA Indoor Championships
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Following her fifth-place All-American finish at last November's NAIA Cross Country Championship in Tallahassee, freshman Grace Steinmetz returns to Florida this weekend for a run at her second honor of the year.
The event returns to the Alachua County Sports and Events Center in Gainesville, where over 1,000 men's and women's track and field athletes will compete for All-American titles and determine the NAIA national team champions. The events begin on Thursday, March 5, and conclude on March 7.
Steinmetz will compete in Saturday's 5,000-meter run, where she enters with the fourth-best time recorded during the 2026 indoor season. She also met national qualifying standards in the mile run (16th in the NAIA) and 3,000-meter run (10th), but due to the tight schedule, she will contest only the 5K. She is the first-ever female indoor track national qualifier in Bruin program history. It should be noted that a second Bruin, junior Maggie Boley, qualified in the 1,000-meter and mile runs, but due to illness, will be unable to compete.
The 5,000-meter run will be contested as a final only, with the race set to go off at 3:55 Eastern (2:55 Central) on Saturday.
