SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- The Bruin defense posted their second shutout of the season in a game that saw the Bellevue University women's pick up a 0-0 road draw at Morningside University on Saturday afternoon.
The Bruins have now tied two games in a row and are 2-0-2 on the year. Morningside now stands at 2-0-2 as well.
Bellevue out-shot Morningside 7-3 in the first half with Prescillia Casu, Aileen Perez, Baylee Tex, and Layla Vazquez all putting shots on frame for the Bruins.
Mia Hurt, Sam Mausbach, and Perez all put shots on target in the second half but BU but the Bruins were unable to put anything past Morningside's Moriah Dixson.
Abril Cura came up with saves in the 21st, 38th, and 61st minutes for BU.
Bellevue doubled up Morningside in shots 12-6 and racked up a 7-3 advantage in shots on goal and 5-2 edge in corner kicks.
The game saw the teams whistled for 29 combined fouls with five yellow cards issued.
Cura totaled three saves to notched her second shutout of the season in goal for BU and Dixson finished with seven saves in goal for Morningside.
Bellevue returns home on Wednesday, Sept. 10 when they host Doane University at 5:30 p.m. from the Renner Dennis Outdoor Athletic Complex.
