Ashby announced as next BU signee
BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University head women's soccer coach Tom White has announced the signing of Izzy Ashby (Omaha, Neb.) to a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at Bellevue beginning next fall.
The daughter of Shawn and Georgette Ashby, Izzy attends Papillion La-Vista High School where she plays soccer under the guidance of Zach Walsh and she has contributed to 10 goals and 8 assists thus far during her scholastic career.
Ashby plays her club soccer at Gretna Elite Academy where she is coached by Alan Carr. During her club career Izzy has had many accolades including making the best state XI in 2020.
Coach White on Ashby:
"We are very excited that Iz will be joining us this fall. She has a lot of power and ability on and off the ball but her tactical understanding is what were most excited about. She is really going to push her team mates in the fall and we think she will gel perfectly of what we are trying to accomplish moving forward."
Ashby joins the previously announced Jordan Zielinski (Omaha, Neb./Elkhorn North HS) and current PLV High School teammate Olivia Wahl (Papillion, Neb./Papillion-La Vista HS) in the Bruins' 2025 recruiting class.
This past season, Bellevue posted an overall record of 9-5-3, claimed the No. 2 seed in the Continental Athletic Conference Tournament, and reached the CAC title game for the fourth-straight season.
