Amaro becomes fourth Bruin signee for 2022
Jenn Amaro (Mexico City, Mexico) has signed a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at Bellevue beginning next fall.
BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University head women's soccer coach Tom White has announced the signing of Jenn Amaro (Mexico City, Mexico) to a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at Bellevue beginning next fall.
The daughter of Veronica Espinoza, Jenn comes to Bellevue University after playing her club soccer at Club Laguna under the guidance of Mercedes Rodriguez.
Amaro also played at the Universidad de las Americas Puebla where she was a three-time champion of Copa Telemex. Additionally, she represented Mexico at the U15 and U17 levels from 2013-15.
Coach White on Amaro:
"We are very excited that Jenn is joining our program next fall. She will compete for the number on spot with Eliza and Meiria. It was high priority this year bringing in another goalkeeper with Sabrina and Alanya leaving. Her work rate and her will to push herself is exactly what we were looking for so we are eager to see he grow under the guidance of DD (assistant coach Haley Shelton)."
Amaro joins previously announced signees Shadine Rutherford (Kingston, Jamaica), Rendi Takara-Haraki (Mililani, Hawaii), and Emma Madej (Omaha, Neb.) in the Bruins' 2022 recruiting class.
Bellevue wrapped up a successful 2021 campaign by returning to the NAIA National Tournament for the first time since 2014. Despite an injury-riddled and trying season on the field, the Bruins won their semifinal at the CAC Tournament for the first time to secure a spot in the NAIA Opening Round.
