Bruins announce three women's soccer signings
Bellevue has signed three student-athletes – Amber Bennett (Omaha, Neb.), Eliza Christensen (Renton, Wash.), and Riley Stock (Omaha, Neb.) – to letters of intent to continue their respective careers at Bellevue in the fall.
BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University head women's soccer coach Tom White has announced the signings of Abby Bennett (Omaha, Neb.), Eliza Christensen (Renton, Wash.), and Riley Stock (Omaha, Neb.) to a letter of intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at Bellevue beginning in the fall.
The daughter of Erica Bennett, Bennett comes to Bellevue University after playing her high school soccer at Roncalli Catholic High School under the guidance of Pat Stoffel.
Coach White on Bennett:
"We are very excited that Abs is joining our program. She works hard day in and day out and will do anything for her team mates. She will add even more depth to our group and will give us pace within our defending unit. Amy Tilley is very proud that she has a former club player joining us and becoming a Bruin".
The daughter of Larry Christensen and Lisa Charron, Christensen comes to Bellevue University after playing her Junior College career at Yakima Valley College. Prior to this she attended Bonney Lake High School where she totaled 151 within her career.
Coach White on Christensen:
"We are very excited that Eliza is joining our program. We have been wanting to add another goalkeeper to add to the squad to increase competition and Eliza will come in and push the other two goalies. Moreover, Eliza is a great person that fits being a Bruin and will be a great addition to the goalkeeping union".
The daughter of Jeff and Tracy Stock, Riley comes to Bellevue University after playing high school soccer at Papillion South High School. Stock also played under the current BU head men's soccer coach Mark Heath-Preston at Bellevue Soccer Club.
Coach White on Stock:
"Riley has been training with us throughout the year and has earnt a spot due to her sheer hard work and determination. Unfortunately, Riley had a bad knee injury during her high school career and took time to recover before getting back on the pitch. Each week we saw her grow in confidence and fit in very well with her team mates here – Riley joins her sister Emma and is the youngest of a quadruplet."
The trio of Bennett, Christensen, and Stock join earlier signees Alba Petit (Cardedeu, Barcelona) and Mackenzie Poleij (Hoek van Holland, Netherlands) in the Bruins' 2021 recruiting class.
Bellevue wrapped up a 12-4-0 season at the A.I.I. Tournament over the weekend, falling in heart-breaking fashion in the semifinal against Georgia Gwinnett College. The season represented a six-win improvement from 2019, highlighted by wins over a pair of National Tournament qualifiers in Concordia University and Kansas Wesleyan University.
