Sinecio awarded MCAC Defensive Player of the Week

Bellevue University women's soccer goalkeeper Sammy Sinecio has been named this week's Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Week.

POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- Bellevue University women's soccer goalkeeper Sammy Sinecio has been named this week's Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Week.

In Bellevue's 4-1 win at the University of Jamestown on Oct. 26, she recorded a career-high nine saves.

For the season, Sinecio has a 4-1-0 record with 18 saves and a 0.80 goals against average.

The BU women's soccer team will travel to Forest City, Iowa on Saturday, Nov. 2 for a conference match at Waldorf College. Kick-off is scheduled for noon at Bolstorff Field.
