Bloom, Shuman earn conference honors
POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- Bellevue University women's soccer players Jenica Bloom and Meredith Shuman have been named this week's Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference's Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week announced on Monday, Sept. 19.
A native of Omaha, Neb., Bloom scored the game-winning goal in Bellevue's 1-0 win at Menlo College (Sept. 16) after recording the assist in the Bruins' 1-0 win at home against MidAmerica Nazarene University (Sept. 13). Bloom has registered a team-high 17 shots with eight on goal.
Shuman, last year's co-MCAC Defensive Player of the Year, helped anchor the Bruins' defense that posted two shutouts last week.
The Bruins will host Bethany College on Friday, Sept. 23 with a 7:00 p.m. kick-off at Tranquility Park.
