Women's soccer runs camp for Plattsmouth youth
BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The Bellevue University women’s soccer program had the opportunity to work with children from the Plattsmouth Soccer Club this weekend. The team ran a one day camp for kids aged 3 to 12 in Plattsmouth, Neb. More than 50 young soccer players participated in the camp.
“Giving the team an opportunity to work with young soccer players from our local communities and a chance to share what they know and love about the game is an invaluable experience for our program," said head coach Andy Nicolarsen. "I would like to thank the Plattsmouth Soccer Club for asking us to help with the camp and look forward to working with the club in the future.”
The BU women’s soccer team finished last season with a 15-4-2 overall record and qualified for the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in program history. The Bruins open the 2011 year on Saturday, Aug. 27 at Concordia (Neb.) University. Kick-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. in Seward, Neb.
