Suresh paces Bruins on Day One of Frontier Conference Championship
PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Shreya Suresh is just two strokes off the individual lead for the Bellevue University women's golf team after Tuesday's first two rounds of play at the 2026 Frontier Conference Women's Golf Championship being played at the 6,475-yard, par-72 Papago Golf Club.
As a team, Bellevue finds themselves second overall at 98-over (674). They are 14 strokes behind Rocky Mountain College (660, +84). Carroll College (+106), Montana Tech (+107), and Dickinson State (+116) are lurking in third through fifth place.
Suresh shot 80-81 and is 17 over through 36 holes and finds herself in a three-way tie for second. Dickinson State's Brooklyn Materi is the overall leader at 15-under, though Suresh held the lead for a portion of the second round.
Suresh's day was highlighted by birdies in each round, making birdies on the 311-yard, par 4 No. 2 and the 293-yard, par 4 No. 12. She tallied 16 pars in addition to her pair of birdies.
Patricia Jakovleva and Isabella Gomez are neck-and-neck with Jakovleva in 10th at after shooting 86-81 (+23) and Gomez 11th following a 85-84 (+25) effort. Jakovleva's day was highlighted by a birdie on the 398-yard, par 4 No. 16 which came amidst a run of four-straight holes she parred or birdies. She finished with 16 pars. Gomez registered a birdie on the 214-yard, par 3 No. 17 and finished with 12 pars on the day.
Nellie Forsen rebounded from a first round 93 to shoot 84 in the second and is tied for 17th overall at 33-over. She parred 13 holes on the day.
Final round play commences tomorrow with a 7 a.m. tee time. Bellevue's start times are as follows:
