BU tied for 19th in rain-plagued National Tournament
Led by senior Allison Temple, the Bellevue University women's golf team is currently in a tie for 19th place in the team standings after the opening day of play at the 2022 NAIA Women's Golf National Championship. The tournament, which was shortened from 72 holes to 54 holes due to excessive rain, is being played at the par-72, 6,013-yard Lincoln Park Golf Club (West Course).
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Led by senior Allison Temple, the Bellevue University women's golf team is currently in a tie for 19th place in the team standings after the opening day of play at the 2022 NAIA Women's Golf National Championship. The tournament, which was shortened from 72 holes to 54 holes due to excessive rain, is being played at the par-72, 6,013-yard Lincoln Park Golf Club (West Course).
Due to a late start this morning, only half of the 30 teams completed their first round of play. Those teams will complete the first round beginning at 7 a.m. tomorrow morning before beginning the second round.
The Bruins, who were able to complete their opening round, shot a team score of 22-over par 310. BU will likely not tee off in the second round until tomorrow afternoon after the first group completes the end of their first round and their entire second round of play.
British Columbia leads the team standings at 1-under par through 10 holes of play. Oklahoma City is in second at 2-over par, also through 10 holes.
Temple carded a 3-over 75 and is currently in a tie for 59th place in the 156-player field. Her round consisted of one birdie, four bogeys, and 13 pars.
Ilysia Ibnu posted a 5-over 77 putting her in a tie for 83rd place. Her opening round was highlighted by a birdie and 13 pars.
Maria Pinedo is in a tie for 92nd place after shooting a 6-over 78 in the first round. She had one birdie and 13 pars in her opening round.
Tylah Saifoloi registered an 8-over 80 and is in a tie for 112th place. Her round was sparked by nine pars and a birdie.
Megan Harty completed the Bruins' performances on the day, finishing with an 11-over par 83, She is in a tie for 135th place in the individual standings.
Truett McConnell's MinJi Kang leads the field at 3-under par with SCAD-Atlanta's Mogie Adamchik one stroke back at 2-under par.
