BU finishes fourth at Creighton Classic

OMAHA, Neb. -- Paced by the consistent play of Madison Brooks, the Bellevue University women's golf team finished in fourth place in the Creighton University Classic being played at the par-73, 5,952-yard Oak Hills Country Club.
The Bruins were the only non-NCAA Division I team in the five-team field. Host Creighton captured the title with a 33-over par 36-hole team score of 617 (306-311). Monday's first-round leader, Northern Iowa, was four strokes back at 621 after shooting a 318 on the day for a two-day total of 621 (303-318).
Drake finished in third after posting the day's top team score of 308 for a 630 (322-308) total.
Bellevue registered a team score of 334 to go along with Monday's 323 for a 657 team total. Omaha rounded out the team scoring at 665 (328-337).
Brooks finished in 11th place in the 36-player field after firing an 8-over 81, to go with Monday's 7-over 80.
Tylah Saifoloi tied for 14th after shooting an 85 on Tuesday, finishing the tournament at 17-over par following Monday's 5-over 78.
Mikayla King finished in a tie for 17th at 19-over par (81-84 -- 165). Allison Temple shot an identical score to Monday with an 11-over 84 to finish in a tie for 24th place.
UNI's Hannah Bermel edged Creighton's Katie Allen to win the individual crown. She finished at 3-over par after recording a 2-over 75 to go with Monday's 1-over 74.
The Bruins will finish up the fall season next Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 14-15, when they travel to Oklahoma City, Okla. to participate in the Sydney Cox Invitational.
