Bruins claim title at OPSU Invitational
GARDEN CITY, Kan. -- Three Bruin golfers finished in the top five individually as the Bellevue University women's golf team claimed the title at Oklahoma Panhandle State University Invitational at the Buffalo Dunes Golf Course Tuesday.
Bellevue finshed with a two-day team total of 654, 55 shots better than second-place Northwestern Oklahoma State University (709).
Individually, Ana Laura Gomez and Christina VonRiesen finished in a tie for first with Gomez winning the scorecard playoff. Both golfers finished with two-day totals of 158. Taylor Byers finished fourth with a 166 (83-83). All three golfers were named to the all-tournament team.
The Bruins will travel to Winfield, Kan. next Monday-Tuesday, March 19-20 to participate in the Southwestern (Kan.) College Invitational.
