BISMARCK, N.D. -- Bellevue University graduate student Miranda Hennings (Council Bluffs, Iowa) collected her second North Star Athletic Association women's basketball player of the week award of the season on Monday afternoon, as announced by the NSAA office.
Hennings helped the Bruins to a split last week as they hosted the Fairfield Inn by Marriott Classic. She averaged 16.5 points and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 64.7% on 17 three-point attempts.
She scored nine points, grabbed a pair of boards, and dished out six assists in a narrow, 81-77, loss to Doane on Thursday.
Hennings followed that performance up by scoring a career-high 24 points on 8-of-9 shooting from beyond the arc in a 79-60 win over Iowa Wesleyan. Both her eight made treys and 88.9% effort from long-range represented the second-best single game marks in program history.
For the season she is now averaging 10 points per game and leads the conference in both three-pointers (40) and 3-point percentage (54.8%). She ranks eighth nationally in three-point field goals made and third in three-points field goal percentage.
After concluding their regular-season non-conference slate, Bellevue (7-7) returns to league action this weekend when they host a pair of games. The Bruins welcome Dickinson State to the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center at 5:30 p.m. Friday evening before playing host to Valley City at 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
