Bruins ink Canadian right-handed pitcher Jordyn Butcher

BELLEVUE, Neb. — Bellevue University head softball coach Michala Cimino announced the signing of Jordyn Butcher, a transfer pitcher from Kankakee Community College (Kankakee, Ill.), as the seventh signee in the Bruins' 2025-26 recruiting class.

Butcher, a 5-foot-8 right-handed pitcher from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, will arrive at BU with two years of eligibility remaining. She played a key role in leading KCC to a 44-16 overall record in 2025 and a berth in the NJCAA Region IV Final Four.

During her sophomore season, Butcher compiled a 16-5 record with 207 strikeouts in 133.1 innings pitched, while batting .473 with 27 home runs, 23 doubles, five triples, and 91 RBIs. Over her two-year career, she posted a .490 batting average, 47 home runs, 37 doubles, eight triples, 161 RBIs, and 301 strikeouts in 190.1 innings.

Butcher holds multiple Kankakee records, including single-season home runs (27), career home runs (47), and single-season strikeouts (207). She was named first-team all-region in both 2023 and 2024, and earned third-team All-American honors in 2023.

In the classroom, Butcher was recognized as a second-team Academic All-American and made the honor roll in all four semesters at KCC. She plans to major in Business Administration at Bellevue.

Butcher joins fellow Kankakee transfer Marguerite Brown (Chatham, Ontario), along with Carly Bertolini (Papillion, Neb./Papillion-La Vista HS), Alivia Courter (Yutan, Neb./Millard West HS), Macie Wyman (Omaha, Neb./Millard West HS), Bayla Bodnar (Ralston, Neb./Ralston HS), and Lindsey Dressman (Marysville, Kan./Marysville HS) in the Bruins' 2025-26 recruiting class.

Bellevue posted a 29-21 overall record during the 2025 season, finishing third in the North Star Athletic Association regular-season standings.
