Cunningham highlights BU selections on all-NSAA teams

Junior pitcher/designated player/outfielder Katie Cunningham headlined the 2024 all-North Star Athletic Association softball teams as announced today in conjunction with the 2024 NSAA Softball Tournament. Cunningham was named both the NSAA Player of the Year and NSAA Pitcher of the Year. Five Bruins were named to the first team, while two garnered second-team honors, and another three were named to the NSAA Gold Glove Team. In addition, Michala Cimino was named the NSAA Coach of the Year for the fifth time in her career.

Bellevue University is the head coaches' preseason favorite to repeat as the North Star Athletic Association softball regular-season champions, as the 2024 coaches' preseason poll was released Wednesday by the league office.  BU had won the previous two NSAA softball regular-season titles with a combined 50-4 conference record.

The Bellevue University softball team claimed the number nine team Grade Point Average (GPA) among all NAIA softball programs in the nation on the Easton Top 10 GPAs list and placed a program record 16 student-athletes on the Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete list, according to rankings by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).
