2024 Season (Senior): Started 55 of 56 games at third base ... Earned second-team all-NSAA honors while batting .307 with 12 doubles, four home runs, and 27 RBIs ... Had 13 multi-hit games ... Went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs in the Bruins' 6-4 win over St. Xavier in the NAIA National Championship Opening Round ... Earned Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete and NSAA Scholar-Athlete honors.

2023 Season (Junior): Starting third baseman in 50 of 53 games ... Batted .216 with five doubles, a triple, and one home run ... Named to the NSAA Gold Glove Team ... Went 2-for-2 with two doubles and an RBI in BU's 6-4 win over Calumet on Mar. 6 ... Earned Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete and NSAA Scholar-Athlete honors.

2022 Season (Junior Redshirt): Did not compete during the 2022 season due to injury. 

2021 Season (Sophomore): Saw action in 39 games with 21 starts at both catcher and third base ... Batted .171 with three doubles, three home runs, and 15 RBIs ... Recorded a .329 slugging percentage on the season ... Went 2-for-3 with a home run and five RBIs in the Bruins' 8-5 win over Mayville State on Mar. 27.  

2020 Season (Freshman): Appeared in 19 games with 17 starts, mainly at third base or catcher ... Batted .294 on the season with five doubles, one triple, a home run, and a team second-best 10 RBIs ... Went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, and four RBIs in the Bruins' 7-0 win over Cleary on Mar. 1. 

High School: A four-year varsity letterwinner at Bellevue West High School under coach Laura Kratochvil, where she twice earned honorable mention Class A all-state honors ... Batted .376 her senior season with 15 doubles, three triples, and 21 RBIs ... Set school records for career total bases (145), defensive putouts (430), and single-season doubles (15) ... Named to the all-ITG team and was a two-time all-Metro Conference selection ... Voted her team's offensive MVP and team captain during her senior campaign ... An excellent student, Machacek was a member of the all-academic team, the National Honor Society, MU Alpha Theta, and the Science National Honor Society ... Played club softball for Nebraska Gold under coaches Larry Swift and Chad Perkins, helping her team to a No. 29  national ranking.

Bruins down St. Xavier in NAIA Opening Round; Madonna up next

The fifth-seeded Bellevue University softball team advanced at the NAIA National Championship Opening Round - Sioux Center Bracket with a 6-4 victory over fourth-seeded St. Xavier University, avenging an earlier loss to the Cougars in the tournament. The Bruins (34-21) will now play second-seeded Madonna University tonight at 7 p.m. in an elimination contest. The game was originally scheduled for 3 p.m. but was delayed due to rain in the area.

Cunningham highlights BU selections on all-NSAA teams

Junior pitcher/designated player/outfielder Katie Cunningham headlined the 2024 all-North Star Athletic Association softball teams as announced today in conjunction with the 2024 NSAA Softball Tournament. Cunningham was named both the NSAA Player of the Year and NSAA Pitcher of the Year. Five Bruins were named to the first team, while two garnered second-team honors, and another three were named to the NSAA Gold Glove Team. In addition, Michala Cimino was named the NSAA Coach of the Year for the fifth time in her career.

The Bellevue University softball team claimed the number nine team Grade Point Average (GPA) among all NAIA softball programs in the nation on the Easton Top 10 GPAs list and placed a program record 16 student-athletes on the Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete list, according to rankings by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).
