Cunningham honored again as NSAA Pitcher of the Week
For the second time this season, freshman Katie Cunningham has earned North Star Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week honors for her performances in last week's conference four-game sweep over Waldorf University. Cunningham also earned the honor on March 28.
MADISON, S.D. -- For the second time this season, freshman Katie Cunningham has earned North Star Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week honors for her performances in last week's conference four-game sweep over Waldorf University. Cunningham also earned the honor on March 28.
Cunningham tossed a two-hit complete-game shutout in BU's 9-0 victory over the Warrior on April 15. She did not allow a walk while striking out eight WU batters in seven innings in the circle.
At the plate, Cunningham went 4-for-7 with a double and an RBI.
On the season, Cunningham leads the Bruins with nine wins and 89 strikeouts in 84.2 innings pitched while maintaining a 2.48 ERA. She currently leads the NSAA in total strikeouts and is third with her 2.48 ERA.
The Bruins will host Dakota State University in a 3 p.m. NSAA doubleheader on Wednesday, April 20 at Roy Smith Field.
