Coaching Milestone: Cimino celebrates 400th Win

Bellevue University head softball coach Michala Cimino picked up her 400th career victory over the weekend as BU competed in the season-opening Our Lady of the Lake Nationwide Classic in San Antonio, Texas.
Cimino, who is in her 12th season at Bellevue, earned her 400th career victory last Saturday in the Bruins' 4-1 win over host Our Lady of the Lake University.
Cimino, who was named the MCAC Coach of the Year in 2010, 2011, 2013, and 2015 and NSAA Coach of the Year in 2016, 2017, and 2019, has compiled an overall record of 400-186-1 (.682) and a 157-38 (.805) mark in conference play.
She has coached eight NAIA All-Americans, 46 first-team all-conference players, six conference Players of the Year, five conference Pitchers of the Year, four conference Newcomers of the Year, 77 conference Scholar-Athletes, and 19 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
The Bruins (3-3) return to action on Feb. 20-21 when they travel to Allen, Texas to compete in the Southern Collegiate States NAIA Invitational. BU will play five games in the tournament, beginning with Tabor College at 10 a.m. on Feb. 20.
