BU completes 4-game series sweep over Saints
Bellevue defeated Presentation, 4-1 and 8-0 to take all four games of the home conference series.

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The Bellevue University softball team completed a four-game home NSAA series sweep with a pair of wins Monday over visiting Presentation College at the Lied Activity Center Field. The Bruins won the opener, 4-1, and captured the nightcap, 8-0, in five innings.
With the two victories, BU improved to 23-8 on the season and 8-2 in the NSAA. Presentation fell to 13-18 overall and 2-6 in league play.
The Bruins will travel to Fremont, Neb. on Wednesday, March 29 for a 5 p.m. non-conference doubleheader at Midland University.
Game 1: Bellevue 4, Presentation 1
The Bruins scored four early runs and rode the pitching of Lexi LeCalsey en route to the 4-1 victory in the opener.
Bellevue registered six hits in the opening inning, racing out to a 4-0 lead, highlighted by RBI singles from Maddie Siedlik, Erin Sharpe, and Alex Tooley.
Neither team scored again until Kassandra Orozco drove in Haylee Hemmert with an RBI double to center field in the top of the sixth inning for the Saints' only run on the day.
LeCalsey (5-3) picked up her fifth victory of the year, scattering five hits and one walk with five strikeouts in seven innings in the circle.
Megan Mendonca suffered the loss after allowing four runs on nine hits with no walks and one strikeout in six innings of work.
Game 2: Bellevue 8, Presentation 0 (5 innings)
The Bruins outhit PC, 11-2 and Kelli Fisher tossed a two-hitter as BU cruised to the 8-0 victory in Monday's second contest.
Hannah Carter went 2-for-2 with two triples, two RBIs and three runs scored to lead the Bruins at the plate. Four Bruins had multiple hits in the contest.
For the second-straight game, BU got out of the gate quickly, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first, sparked by an RBI triple to right field by Carter and an RBI single to center field by Kaitlyn Kinman.
The Bruins extended the lead to 5-0 in the bottom of the second with a two-run single to center field by Erin Sharpe.
Carter's second RBI triple of the game along with a PC fielding error made it 7-0 in the bottom of the fourth frame.
Randi Henry's RBI double to right field in the bottom of the fifth drove in Kinman and ended the game, securing the 8-0 victory.
Fisher allowed just two hits with one walk and one strikeout in five innings of work to improve to 14-3 on the season.
