Miller signs with Bruin softball
Bellevue University head softball coach Michala Cimino announced today the signing of outfielder Kelsey Miller (Indianola, Iowa/Indianola HS/Iowa Pride), who signed a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at BU beginning in the fall of 2012.
Miller, the daughter of Gregory and Linda Miller, played for Iowa Pride summer club team under coaches Gary Grove and her father, Gregory.
During the 2011 club season, Miller finished with 29 doubles 22 RBIs, and 14 steals. She was named MVP in the first round of the Missouri/Kansas USSSA summer state tournament in July 2011. Miller did not commit a fielding error the entire summer season.
An excellent student, Miller was twice named to the academic all-state team.
Miller joins earlier signee Kelli Jo Fisher (Yutan, Neb./Yutan HS) who signed with the Bruins last November.
The Bruins finished the 2011 season with a 32-19 overall record, a 12-0 MCAC mark, the MCAC regular season and tournament titles, and the program's second-straight appearance at the NAIA Softball National Championship.
Bellevue opens the 2012 season at the Saint Gregory's Tournament on Feb. 24-25 in Farmer's Branch, Texas.
