Gansz, Bartley named Daktronics Scholar-Athletes
DECATUR, Ala. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that a total of 275 softball players have been named 2010 Daktronics-NAIA Softball Scholar-Athletes. Two Bruins were named to the prestigious team, including senior catcher Kendra Gansz and junior third baseman Allie Bartley.
Nominated by each institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify.
The Bruins finished the 2010 season with a 32-17 overall record, a 10-0 MCAC mark, and the program's fourth appearance at the NAIA Softball National Championship. Bellevue, under first-year head coach Michala Cimino, also captured the 2010 MCAC regular season and tournament titles.
