Bruins take three titles, add two school records at NSAA Championships

The two-day North Star Athletic Association's outdoor track and field championship concluded Friday, with the Bruins adding three individual titles, two runner-up medals, and two more new school records. The meet was held at Dakota State's brand new Dan Beacom track facility with warm temperatures but accompanying strong winds that slowed times in the distance events. Despite the conditions, the Bruins continued to re-write their all-time records.

The Bruin track team traveled to the University of South Dakota for one final tune-up before next week's NSAA championship at Friday's aptly named USD Tune-Up held under clear skies and a light breeze. The meet featured a largely NCAA Division I field.

Bruins capture two individual titles at Jim Dutcher Invite

Bruin athletes were individual champions in two events at Saturday’s Jim Dutcher Invitational hosted by Doane University. Meet conditions were cool and breezy, which made fast times a premium for the day, but two Bruin men prevailed over the field of mostly NAIA competition, taking home wins in the men’s 1500-meter run and the 3000-meter steeplechase.

ruin track athletes produced three podium (top five) finishes and three school records at the 59th annual Sioux City Relays held over Friday and Saturday at Elwood Olsen Stadium on the campus of Morningside University. Wind and cool springtime weather finally made way for sunny skies and calm winds, and the Bruins responded with many season-best performances.

The 4x800 team of Robbie Silford, Collin Kotz, Saba Khichava, and Richard Marcoux finished in third place.

Bruins Open Indoor Track Season at Prairie Wolf Invite

The BU track team opened their 2024 indoor campaign today competing at the Prairie Wolf Invite hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan at UNL’s Bob Devaney Center. After an especially cold and snowy start to winter, the Bruins were able to get inside for some racing.
