Bruins continue to reinforce defense
D/MF Scott Robson (Bryant & Stratton College) has signed a LOI to play soccer at Bellevue
BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The Bellevue University men's soccer team, under head coach Mark Heath-Preston, has announced today the signing of Scott Robson (Bryant and Stratton College) to a letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic careers at Bellevue beginning in the fall of 2016.
Robson will be a junior after playing his first two seasons at Bryant & Stratton College in Syracuse, N.Y. This past season he helped Bobcats reach the USCAA National Championship Game before falling in penalties to the University of Maine-Fort Kent.
In two seasons at Bryant & Stratton Robson tallied four goals and 25 assists. He served as team captain this past season, scoring all four of his career goals and recording 11 assists. Robson brings versatility to the Bruin lineup as he is a capable defender and midfielder, giving Coach Heath-Preston flexibility when choosing his team.
Mark Heath-Preston on Scott Robson:
"We are delighted to sign Scott and have him join the Bruins. As a player, and student, he will add quality and experience to our program. Scott has already had two successful years as a player at the collegiate level, and we expect him to continue to add to our program's success as we push for our fourth-straight NAIA National Tournament appearance."
Robson joins earlier signee Brannon McIntosh (Bellevue East HS) in the Bruins' 2016 recruiting class.
Bellevue posted a 12-4-4 record this past season and finished ranked 17th in the postseason NAIA Coaches' Poll. The Bruins doubled-up on hardware winning both the conference regular season and tournament championships. After defeating USAO in the NAIA National Tournament Opening Round, the Bruins advanced to the final site for the second successive season and third time in program history.
