Briggs inks O'Reilly for 2012
BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Head men's soccer coach Matt Briggs announced today the signing of Conor O’Reilly (Birmingham, England/Arch Bishop Ilsley Catholic Technology College) to continue his academic and athletic careers at Bellevue University beginning in the fall of 2012.
O’Reilly attended Arch Bishop Ilsley Catholic Technology College where he recorded 33 goal and 14 assists in 36 career matches. He led his squad in goals in 2009 and 2010 while being named the Player of the Year after leading his school to the Birmingham Cup.
"Conor is a natural finisher and another great addition to our squad," said Briggs. "He is great with the ball and can create space for teammates. We are looking forward to having Conor join us in 2012."
The son of Joseph and Sheila intends to major in sports management at Bellevue.
"We signed Conor from Joe at Soccer Icon after watching him in a showcase in December, along with Corey Smith who we signed last week," Briggs added.
O’Reilly joins earlier signees Matt Ward (Lincoln, England), Corey Smith (Ulvertson, England), Leigh Veidman (Liverpool, England/Texas at Brownsville/IWCC) , Jo Maxwell (Maybole, Scotland/Carrick Academy) and Charles Samushonga (Glasgow, Scotland/Pratt CC).
