Briggs inks junior college transfer Samushonga
BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Head men's soccer coach Matt Briggs announced today the signing of junior college transfer Charles Samushonga to a letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic careers at Bellevue University in 2012.
Samushonga, a 5-11 goalkeeper from Glasgow, Scotland, played two seasons at Pratt Community College. Last season he collected 56 saves in the 11 matches for the Beavers while being named a first team all-region and second team all-conference selection.
"We are delighted to have signed Chaz," said Briggs. "He is a great keeper and young man who will add a lot of quality and experience to our squad. We look forward to working with him next fall."
Samushonga, the son of Margaret McGloin and Washington Samushonga, intends to major in economics.
