No. 16 Coyotes edge Bruins, 3-2

OMAHA, Neb. -- Sixtheenth-ranked Kansas Wesleyan scored three goals in the final 11 minutes of the game to pull out a 3-2 win over No. 19 Bellevue University Saturday night at Tranquility Park.

Bellevue fell to 5-2 on the season, while the Coyotes improved to 5-1 overall.

James Evison scored on a penalty kick with just over four minutes remaining in the first period to give the Bruins a 1-0 advantage.

KWU had a chance at the equalizer in the 70th minute when the Coyotes were awarded a penalty kick. Senior goal keeper Sebastian Narvaez stopped David Hernandez' penalty shot to keep the Bruins up 1-0.

Playing with a two-man advantage, KWU stormed back with two goals in a two-minute span, scoring goals in the 79th and 81st minute, both by Jacob DeLeon.

Kyle Kirkland tied it up with his fourth goal of the season on a header goal at 82:15. Ryan Cantello was credited with the assist.

David Hernandez scored the game-winner on a header with 2:18 remaining in the game. Alex Chavez was credited with his second assist of the game.

Narvaez fell to 4-2 on the season, recording six saves in the loss.

The Bruins will host fourth-ranked Hastings College next Wednesday, Sept. 29, at 7 p.m. at Creighton's Morrison Stadium.
