First round play suspended at NAIA National Championship
SILVIS, Ill. -- Play at the 73rd NAIA Men's Golf National Championship was suspended during Tuesday's first round at TPC Deere Run.
Play was suspended shortly after noon due to lightning and rain in the area and is scheduled to resume tomorrow at 7 a.m.
Just 15 of 29 competing teams were able to begin play on Tuesday.
Keiser, Dalton State, and Texas Wesleyan share the team lead at 2-under, though none of the three got more than 13 holes in before the weather delay struck.
Texas Wesleyan's Brady Meek (-4) holds a one-stroke lead over Dalton State's Jack Whaley (-3) on the individual leaderboard. Meek was able to get 10 holes in before weather struck and Whaley was just three holes into his round.
More details will be provided as they're made available by the NAIA's national office.
