Andre Becerra was named to the NAIA PING All-Central Region team
MOLINE, Ill. -- Bellevue University sophomore Andre Becerra has been recognized as an NAIA PING All-Region selection as announced today by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
In each of the four regions – North, South, Central, West – 15 golfers earned the honor.
Becerra, who is currently competing in the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship at the TPC at Deere Run, won the North Star Athletic Association individual title with a thrilling three-hole playoff victory over teammate Fernando Arzate.
Through two rounds of competition Becerra is tied for 75th place after carding back-to-back rounds of 75.
Entering Nationals Becerra had a 73.41 scoring average in 22 rounds of competition including a season-low of 65 in the first round of the U.C. Ferguson Classic back on Sept. 11. In addition to his NSAA Championship, Becerra has four other top 10 finishes with two of those results being top-five efforts.
