2016-17 Bellevue Men's Golf News
A total of 47 Bellevue University student-athletes earned North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Spring Scholar-Athlete honors in an announcement made today by the conference office.
In an announcement made by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, junior Fernando Arzate (Ocotlan, Mexico) and freshman Andre Becerra (Guadalajara, Mexico) were both named third team NAIA All-Americans for the 2016-17 season.
Nicolas Handal shot the Bruins' top round on the day, finishing with a 4-over-par 75.
Diego Gudino is currently tied for 84th in the 155-player field with a first round score of 8-over-par 79.
Andre Becerra led the Bruins with a fourth-place finish of 2-over par.
Andre Becerra becomes the second Bruin ever to win the prestigious weekly award ... He captured the individual title at the TPC Deere Run Invitational last weekend.
Freshman Andre Beccera won individual medalist honors with an 6-under par total of 136 (68-68) ... The Bruins finished in second place in the 11-team tournament.

Fernando Arzate was the Bruins' top golfer in the tournament, finishing at 1-under par with a 215 total after rounds of 73-71-71.
For the second-straight week and the third time in the last four weeks, junior Fernando Arzate has been honored by the league office as the North Star Athletic Association's Men's Golfer of the Week.
