Men’s Golf tops NSAA Preseason Poll
Bellevue was picked first in the NSAA Preseason Coaches’ Poll
MADISON, S.D. – The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Men's Golf head coaches had picked Bellevue (Neb.) as the preseason favorite to win the conference title, announced by the conference office Friday.
The Bruins scored 33 points in the preseason poll (which coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team) and garnered five first-place votes. Jamestown (N.D.) earned two first-place votes and recorded 30 points to finish second. Viterbo (Wis.) gained the final first-place vote and had 23 points to place third.
Dickinson State (N.D.) edged out Waldorf (Iowa) and Valley City State (N.D.) for fourth place. The Blue Hawks had 17 points, while the Warriors had 17 points (fifth place) and Vikings scored 16 points (sixth place). Presentation (S.D.) is seventh with 10 points.
The NSAA conference golf meet will be held on Sept. 28-28 in Oxbow, N.D. The conference winner will earn the NSAA's automatic bid to the NAIA Women's Golf National Championships, which will be held in Pooler, Ga. on May 17-20, 2016.
Bellevue opens their season on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at the Lindenwood University Tournament at Stonewolf Golf Club in St. Louis, Mo.
