Connor Dukes returned to Bellevue University during the summer of 2025, joining head coach Lucas Gabriel’s staff after spending the previous season as an assistant coach for Dickinson State University.

While at DSU, Dukes served as a graduate assistant and head junior varsity coach. He was responsible for assisting with preparing practice plans, game preparation, scouting reports, recruiting both high school and junior college players for the varsity program. For the JV program, he served as head coach, organizing practice plans and game preparations. He assisted both programs in organization travel plans including hotels, buses, and team meals while also overseeing study hall and was charged with monitoring academic progress reports.

Dukes helped guide Dickinson State to both the 2024-25 NSAA Regular Season and Tournament titles after the Blue Hawks posted a 19-11 overall record and 12-3 mark in NSAA play, returning to the NAIA National Tournament for the first time since 2004.

Previous coaching stops for Dukes saw him take a role as the head boys’ basketball coach at Plattsmouth High School in Plattsmouth, Neb. Dukes also spent two years as an assistant coach and head junior varsity coach on the girls’ basketball team at Bellevue West High School.

Dukes is a 2021 graduate of Bellevue University, earning his degree in Education and Health and Human Performance with a focus on Physical Education. He completed his Master's Degree in Sports Administration & Leadership from Dickinson State University in the spring of 2026.

At Bellevue, he was a member of four NSAA regular season championship teams at BU as well as a member of the Bruins’ 2017 NSAA Tournament and NAIA Final Four team, and also played in the 2018 NAIA National Tournament. During his senior season, he earned NSAA Scholar-Athlete and honorable mention all-NSAA honors after averaging 10.5 points per game, draining 75 threes, shooting 45% from deep, and 87% from the free throw line.

Prior to Bellevue, Dukes played one season at Peru State College, making a trip to the National Tournament during his freshman season.

In his time at Bellevue University, Dukes ranks ninth in single-season 3-point field goal percentage (45%), ninth in single-season free throw percentage (86.5%), 15th in single-season 3-point field goals made (77), and sixth for most three-pointers made in a game (7).
