White out scheduled for Bellevue's home-opener against Hastings
Fans are encouraged to wear white for BU's home-opener against Hastings on Nov. 5.
BELLEVUE, Neb. -- In a battle between two top 25 teams, the Bellevue University men's basketball team has designated its home-opener against Hastings College on Tuesday, Nov. 5 as a White Out.
The athletic department encourages all fans to wear white for the contest. The first 200 Bellevue fans will receive a free Bruin basketball t-shirt.
The game will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
Hastings finished last season with a 20-11 overall record and an 11-9 mark in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. The Broncos (1-0) are ranked No. 23 in the NAIA preseason poll.
The 2012-13 Bruins advanced to their 11th-straight NAIA National Tournament, finishing with a 24-11 overall record, while sharing the MCAC regular season crown with a 12-4 conference mark. BU advanced to the Sweet Sixteen of the NAIA National Tournament, losing to eventual national champion Cardinal Stritch University.
BU is ranked No. 19 and is 2-0 this season.
