Overwatch opens Tespa season with four wins
Bellevue won each of their four Overwatch matches on the first day of competition in each of the three Tespa leagues in which they are participating.
BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The Bellevue University Overwatch team made their competitive debut this past weekend in the Tespa National and Regional Leagues posting a combined 3-0 record. They followed that up by winning their first Tespa Varsity League match on Tuesday to improve to 4-0 on the young season.
Tespa National League:
Bellevue's first opponent of the day, Finger Lakes Community College, took a forfeit as the Bruins claimed victory in the program's first competitive match.
The Bruins followed that win up with a dominant performance against Berklee College of Music, taking home a convincing 2-0 win. Bellevue won all four maps they played against Berklee.
Against Berklee, Bellevue posted multiple six-player kill streaks, a rarity in Overwatch.
Tespa Regional League:
Bellevue's opponent, Kansas State University, took a forfeit as the Bruins moved to 1-0 in Region 4.
Tespa Varsity League:
In a highly-touted match-up against Saint Ambrose University, it was BU that emerged victorious by a 2-1 score in a time of 41:32.
The Fighting Bees and Bruins both entered at 3-0 on the year following successful opening days.
Bellevue moved to 1-0 in Region 2-A and Saint Ambrose dropped to 0-1.

Bellevue's League of Legends team begins the competitive portion of the 2018-19 season on Saturday, Jan. 26 against top-ranked Columbia College in the RIOT College League of Legends Championship. The action will be live-streamed and available in the Student Center beginning at 1 p.m.
Overwatch returns on Sunday, Jan. 27, Bellevue plays a pair of week two National League matches and a Regional League match. BU next competes in the Tespa Varsity League against Central Methodist University on Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 8 p.m.
