Rise continues as BU up to #7 in Coaches' Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Bellevue University baseball team jumped three spots – leapfrogging St. Thomas (Fla.), Vanguard (Calif.), and Central Methodist (Mo.) – to No. 7 in this week's NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
The Bruins went 10-0 in the latest ranking period which included NSAA series sweeps of both Waldorf and Presentation along with mid-week victories over Midland and Morningside.
Winners of 21 of their past 22 games, Bellevue now stands at 35-8 on the season and a perfect 19-0 in NSAA play. The Bruins have numerous active winning streaks, including; 14-straight overall, 19-straight at home, 21-straight NSAA regular-season games, and 21-straight regular-season home games.
Bellevue remains 4-5 against teams ranked in the Top 15 and 5-5 against teams either ranked or receiving votes while going 30-3 against unranked competition.
The Bruins remain the lone NSAA team receiving Top 25 consideration and have moved up to third in the latest A-R-C (Area Ranking Committee) ratings, trailing only #5 Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) and #6 Westmont (Calif.). Bellevue remains at No. 14 in the BoChip Ratings, which include games through Apr. 17.
Bellevue hosts Mayville State (14-17/11-9 NSAA) this weekend in a four-game NSAA series from John Stella Field at Brown Park. The games, originally slated to be played in Mayville, N.D., were moved as a result of unplayable field conditions. Friday's first pitch is set for 10 a.m. and Saturday's action begins at noon.
