Embery signs with Lincoln Saltdogs
BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Former Bellevue University baseball player Brian Embery has signed a professional contract with the Lincoln Saltdogs of the American Association.
BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Former Bellevue University baseball player Brian Embery has signed a professional contract with the Lincoln Saltdogs of the American Association.
"We are very excited for the opportunity that Brian has been given to continue his baseball career," said head baseball coach Duane Monlux. "Brian is a solid young man and will represent himself and Bellevue University very well."
Embery recorded a hit and an RBI in the Saltdogs' 10-2 win against the Sioux City Explorers in his debut last night (June 17).
A native of Emporia, Kan., Embery batted .333 with 41 runs scored, 13 doubles, four home runs and nine stolen bases. He also led the team with 50 RBIs.
Embery was named a second team all-conference selection while be awarded the MCAC Gold Glove at first base last season for the Bruins.
He was named the conference Player of the Week on April 29 after he batted .444 with six runs, three doubles, two home runs and 12 RBIs in six Bellevue wins.
Embery is the second former BU player on the Saltdog roster. He joins Tyler Goodro who was a member of the 2009 Bruin baseball team.
