Five former student-athletes to be inducted into 2026 Hall of Fame
BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University is proud to announce the induction of five outstanding former student-athletes into the Bellevue University Athletics Hall of Fame as part of the 13th Annual Hall of Fame Ceremony. The 2026 inductees include Jordan Broady (Volleyball, 2009-12), Candace Clow (Volleyball, 2005-08), Luther Hall (Men's Basketball, 2000-03), Scott Standish (Baseball, 1992-93), and Jessica Wachtler Smith (Women's Soccer, 2004-07).
The induction ceremony will take place on the Bellevue University campus in the John B. Muller Administrative Services Building, Symposium Room on Saturday, Aug. 8. The evening will begin with a reception at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner and the formal induction at 6:30 p.m.
In addition, the Jerry and Gloria Mosser Scholarship Outing will be held the day before, on Friday, Aug. 7, at Eagle Hills Golf Course in Papillion, starting at 1:30 p.m.
2026 Inductee Class
Jordan Broady (Volleyball, 2009-12)
Broady was a three-time All-American, earning second-team NAIA honors in 2012 and honorable-mention status in 2010 and 2011. She was named the 2012 MCAC Player of the Year and the 2009 MCAC Freshman of the Year. Her career accolades include four first-team all-MCAC selections, four first-team all-Nebraska honors, and three AVCA first-team all-West Central Region awards. She was named MCAC Setter of the Week 29 times and was a three-time MCAC Scholar-Athlete.
Broady ranks third in school history in career assists (6,032), eighth in service aces (145), 17th in digs (1,271), and 19th in block assists (228). She holds three spots on the single-season assists chart: sixth (1,730 in 2012), 10th (1,589 in 2010), and 16th (1,421 in 2011).
Broady earned her bachelor's degree in Health and Human Performance from Bellevue University. Since graduating, she has dedicated her career to service, with a focus on supporting the special needs community. Her experience includes providing intensive one-on-one care and managing a day site in Omaha for individuals with diverse disabilities. She continues her advocacy through her work as a Supported Living Provider with Apace. In 2025, Broady launched her own company, The Sacred Ordinary Co., which specializes in branding, design, digital marketing, and event planning for small businesses and non-profits.
She returned to Johnson, Neb., in 2021, where she currently resides, to raise her daughter, Brycin, and support her extended family. She also finds fulfillment in extensive volunteer efforts to strengthen her community.
Candace Clow (Volleyball, 2005-08)
Clow was named the 2008-09 Bellevue University Female Athlete of the Year. In 2008, she earned first-team AVCA All-American and second-team NAIA All-American honors, as well as being named the MCAC Player of the Year. She was a three-time first-team all-MCAC selection and a three-time AVCA all-Region honoree.
Clow ranks second in school history in career assists (6,146), 17th in total blocks (273), 19th in career digs (1,149), and 20th in career service aces (114). On the single-season charts, she holds the seventh (1,721 in 2006), ninth (1,652 in 2007), and 14th (1,451 in 2005) spots for assists.
Clow earned her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Bellevue University. Following graduation, she began a career in Human Resources before transitioning to sales and discovering a passion for the staffing industry. She became part of the original founding team at Ventura MedStaff before launching Marvel Medical Staffing, which recently rebranded as Luvo Healthcare, where she serves as Founder and CEO. Her business achieved Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) certification. Clow was also selected through the Women Presidents Organization (WPO) to complete Harvard Business School's Leading Business and Personal Transitions program, earning certification.
Continuing her support of the Bellevue University volleyball program, she sponsored and hosted two Marvel Classics fundraising events. Clow resides in Valley, Neb., with her spouse, Aaron Grossman, and her three children, Thomas, Charley, and Ashton.
Luther Hall (Men's Basketball, 2000-03)
The 2002-03 Bellevue University Athlete of the Year, Hall was an honorable-mention All-American in 2001-02 and a two-time all-MCAC selection. He helped lead the team to a 76-27 record, two MCAC regular-season and tournament championships, and the program's first 30-win season in 2002-03. That squad reached the NAIA National Tournament Quarterfinals.
Hall compiled 1,143 points, 190 3-point field goals, 286 rebounds, 161 assists, and 120 steals in his career. He ranks fourth all-time in 3-point field goals and seventh in steals. In the 2002-03 season, he led the team in scoring with 550 points (12th all-time) and made 102 3-pointers (5th all-time).
Hall earned his bachelor's degree in communications from Bellevue University. Following his collegiate career, he played on basketball tours in Ukraine, Germany, and Mexico. He joined the United States Army in 2009 and was selected to the All-Army basketball team in 2010. During more than 16 years of military service, Hall served two combat tours and was commissioned as an officer in 2014. He is currently a Psychological Operations Officer under the Special Operations Forces, commanding the 307th PSYOP Company out of St. Louis, Mo., while also serving as a DoD Air Force Flight Chief. Hall holds two M.B.A. degrees from California Southern University.
He and his wife, Brittany, reside in Lancaster, Calif. They have three children, Senia, Jaeza, and Landon, and three grandchildren.
Scott Standish (Baseball, 1992-93)
Standish was named a first-team all-District XI selection and the team's MVP in 1993. The Bruins posted a 61-42-1 record during his two seasons. In 1992, he recorded an 8-2 record with 80 strikeouts and seven saves, the latter ranking seventh in school history. In 1993, he registered a 1.76 ERA, which ranks third all-time.
Standish threw his first no-hitter in a 6-0 win over Hastings, striking out 10 batters. Following his collegiate career, he was drafted by the New York Yankees. He played professionally from 1993 to 1995 with the Oneonta Yankees, Greensboro Bats, Tampa Yankees, and Norwich Navigators.
Standish earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Bellevue University. He currently resides in Lincoln, Neb., where he works for Lincoln Public Schools and serves as the baseball coach at Lincoln Southeast High School. He has remained active in the sport, coaching at both the collegiate and high school levels while offering private lessons.
Standish and his wife, Liz, have twin 16-year-old daughters, Brooke and Hailey.
Jessica Wachtler Smith (Women's Soccer, 2004-07)
Wachtler Smith is the only three-time Women's Soccer All-American in program history (2005, 2006, 2007). The 2007-08 Bellevue University Female Athlete of the Year was a three-time first-team all-MCAC selection and a three-time MCAC Scholar-Athlete. As a defender, she helped the team to a 52-25-6 record, a 2006 MCAC Tournament title, and the 2007 MCAC Regular Season championship.
The team qualified for the NAIA Regional Tournament three times during her tenure. Wachtler Smith played in 82 career games, recording 16 goals, 12 assists, and 44 points.
Wachtler Smith earned her bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology from Bellevue University. Following graduation, she worked in mental and behavioral health for seven years before transitioning to a career in healthcare recruiting and account management. She has worked as a healthcare recruiter and account manager for the past 11 years. She currently resides in Omaha, Neb., with her husband, Andrew.
In her free time, she enjoys playing golf, traveling with her family, and spending time with their dog.
The 13th Annual Hall of Fame Weekend begins on Aug. 7 with the Hall of Fame Golf Golf Outing. The golf outing will support the scholarship fund, which has raised more than $170,000 to date. The weekend continues on Aug. 8 with the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, held on Bellevue University's campus.
