BISMARCK, N.D. -- Freshman Zakiyyah Muhammad (Omaha, Neb.) has been named the North Star Athletic Association Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performances in the Bruins' non-conference road split last week, where BU defeated College of St. Mary, 92-69, and fell at No. 8 Briar Cliff, 88-68.
Muhammad averaged 15 points and nine rebounds over the two games. She notched her second double-double of the season at Briar Cliff, scoring 11 points and grabbing ten rebounds, including a season-high seven offensive boards.
Muhammad shot 75 percent from the floor and the free throw line and was very active defensively with a pair of steals and a block, while her presence created additional disruption throughout the two contests.

The Bruins return home on Friday-Saturday, Dec. 29-30, when they host the Fairfield Inn Bruin Classic. Bellevue welcomes College of the Ozarks for a 5 p.m. tip on the 29th before entertaining Haskell Indian Nations University on the 30th at 5 p.m.
