Lind named Frontier Conference Baseball Player of the Week
HELENA, Mont. — Bellevue University senior outfielder Anthony Lind (Omaha, Neb.) has been named the Frontier Conference Baseball Player of the Week, the league office announced today.
Lind played a pivotal role in No. 3-ranked Bellevue's thrilling 5-4 victory over York University in the team's lone game of the week. The victory extended the Bruins' active winning streak to 16 games, a mark that currently leads the nation.
At the plate, the senior went 1-for-2 and tallied a pair of RBIs. His most crucial swing came in the bottom of the seventh inning when he launched a game-tying home run to ignite the Bruins' late-game rally.
Lind was just as impactful on the defensive end. In the top of the ninth inning, he delivered a game-saving defensive play from right field, throwing out the potential game-tying run at second base as the York baserunner attempted to stretch a single into a double.
Up Next: The Bruins (28-3, 8-0 FC) are in action today, hosting a Frontier Conference tripleheader against Dickinson State University. First pitch is slated for 1 pm at the Renner Dennis Outdoor Athletic Complex.
