Shutout performance nets Bertolini Frontier Conference weekly award
HELENA, Mont. — Bellevue University freshman pitcher Carly Bertolini (Papillion, Neb.) has been named the Frontier Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced today. This marks the second time this season that Bertolini has earned the weekly honor, having previously won the award on March 2.
Bertolini was dominant in the circle during a 2-2 week for the Bruins. She fired 9 1/3 innings of shutout softball, allowing a mere six total base runners on four hits and two walks. She struck out seven batters and picked up a pair of victories for Bellevue.
Her week was highlighted by a masterful performance in the series-opening 1-0 victory over Carroll (Mont.), where she tossed a complete-game, four-hit shutout to secure the win.
Up Next: The Bruins (17-16, 7-5 FC) return to action this weekend with a four-game Frontier Conference series in Great Falls, Mont., against the University of Providence. The series begins on Friday, April 10, at 3 p.m., followed by a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1 p.m.
